 Originating in the area of Heris in northeastern Iran, the informal ‘village’ Heriz rugs are known for high-quality, durable wool, coarser knotting and their use of primary colors.  They often feature bold, geometric patterns with large medallions but can also be found with all-over design or lattice designs.  It’s easy to see why they are often the most popular of the village style rugs.
